CUA51015 Diploma of Screen and Media (Canberra only)
You’ll learn the technique and practical skills to apply bridal, photography, film, runway and editorial makeup. Plus, you’ll learn hair styling, injury simulation, prosthetics and special effects. These skills will prepare you to successfully work in this endlessly creative industry, doing what you love.
CUA51015 Diploma of Screen and Media has 15 units of competency. This includes 3 core units and 12 elective units. The course covers bridal, photography, fashion, runway, film, TV presenter and editorial makeup. It also includes character design, hair styling, wig application, props, latex ageing and period makeup. It covers prosthetics, special effects, airbrushing, bald caps and industry knowledge. Additionally, you will learn how to provide lash and brow services, like lash and brow tinting and brow shaping.
Study part-time for 2 evenings per week for 12 months, or full-time for 2 days per week for 12 months. In addition, you’ll complete 80 work experience hours. Our classes start in February and July. Day students study according to the school year. Evening students have a one week break between each term. Part-time students do a greater volume of ‘self-directed learning’ using CMA’s online Learning Management System. Students should allow additional hours outside of contact hours to complete assessment work.
Practice and perfect your skills on work experience placements. You are expected to complete 80 hours in total. The possibilities are endless. You might work on short films, live shows, theatre and dance performances, music videos, runway shows, Fashfest, photographic shoots, expos or a range of high-profile events. You might assist your trainers or other professional makeup artists on bridal makeups, fashion and editorial shoots, or creating special effects. There are countless creative opportunities. The experience will boost your confidence and improve your skills.

Costs vary from year to year. In 2018 they are $500 for your makeup kit, $49 per t-shirt (a minimum of 1 is required) and $135 for your textbooks.
Students will need to demonstrate that they hold a level of language, learning and numeracy skills suitable to this course.
Our campus has spacious, illuminated makeup studios and a photographic area. The studio rooms feature mirrored walls, specialised equipment, ergonomic chairs, and product storerooms. A fully equipped computer lab is available for student use. There are also recreation areas and kitchen facilities.

An online system at endota Wellness College provides students with access to all their course materials in a single place. This includes textbooks, presentations, images, videos and course notes. With over 48 boards on our Pinterest page, you will never be left searching for ideas or inspiration. We also provide access to assignments and have an easy upload system for assessment submission. This complements your class-room learning and ensures you have all the information you need at your finger tips. Students need to have a tablet or laptop to access endota Wellness College’s learning management systems, a mobile phone is not an acceptable device.
VET Student Loans
endota Wellness College is an approved provider of VET Student Loans. This means eligible students can defer payment of their tuition fees by accessing a government loan. It forms part of the Higher Education Loan Program (HELP). Students repay their loan through the tax system, once they are earning the minimum threshold level for repayment, which is $51,957 for the 2018-19 income year.
A VET Student Loan remains a personal debt obligation until it is repaid to the Commonwealth. VET Student Loans will only be approved for students who meet the eligibility criteria. Only a limited number of high quality providers have been approved. Recognition of prior learning
Previous work experience or training courses may enable us to deem you competent in certain areas, which will allow exemption from some modules. This process is referred to as ‘Recognition of Prior Learning‘ (RPL). As a Registered Training Organisation, delivering nationally recognised training, endota Wellness College can assist you with this process. Please contact a course advisor to request an application form. Application for RPL must occur prior to course commencement.
